WELL BEINGS
Virtual Kickoff

WETA Digital Platforms

WETA, the flagship PBS station in the country, launched the Well Beings Youth Mental Health Project in July 2020. batwin + robin was brought in by WETA to design and produce two virtual events that served as the kickoff to this campaign to bring the epidemic of youth mental illness out of the dark and to end its associated stigma through better awareness and engagement with youth around the country.

Working with writer / director Steven Tabakin and The James Group, batwin + robin worked at all levels of production on creating the programs for WETA’s Well Beings Virtual Reception for project donors and stakeholders, and the Well Beings Virtual Town Hall that was livestreamed as part of NAMICon 2020.

For these events, b+r created original animations and several different video edits featuring messages from celebrity ambassadors and campaign updates from PBS Student Reporters. b+r compiled and edited WETA programming content as teasers for the campaign to come, and recorded and edited a panel discussion on Youth Mental Health & Society. We were also responsible for all event technical direction and the livestreaming of both virtual events.

The campaign launch featured young people, experts, and notable personalities urging the country towards a more thoughtful conversation about mental health conditions, particularly for young people.
