Oscar de la Renta:
The Retrospective

de Young Museum, San Francisco, CA

Curated by the former American editor-at-large for Vogue André Leon Talley, Oscar de la Renta: The Retrospective at the de Young Museum traces the larger than life career of one of the most celebrated fashion designers of our time. For the exhibition, batwin+ robin filmed De La Renta’s pristine gardens at his family home in Kent, Connecticut. The 4K video wall filled the exhibition space and the flowing moves through garden and grounds of the estate illustrates the visionary designer’s passion for gardening and the inspiration he drew from it throughout his career.

“The garden-inspired outfits are presented in a gallery with twisted green and white material on the walls and a huge video of de la Renta’s garden in Connecticut.”
