Virtual Symposium &
Awards Luncheon
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Following an extremely successful digital transformation of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party in May 2020, batwin + robin was asked to produce BCRF’s annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon that normally takes place as a live event in New York City.
For the first time ever, BCRF gathered its donors and researchers from around the world virtually for a panel discussing the latest advances in breast cancer research and to honor recipients of two different annual awards presented by the Foundation. Additionally, BCRF honored all of its scientific research grantees in a virtual presentation highlighting all of the award grants given by BCRF to this international group of scientists.
Working with writer / director Steven Tabakin, b + r designed and produced all elements of the event, including main title animations, and overall graphic design. We also created several edited video pieces including the recording and editing of the symposium panel, a musical performance, a cooking segment with chef Dominique Crenn, and an original animation highlighting each of the grantees in the Awards program. The virtual event raised a record-breaking $3 million, outpacing the fundraising of the live event in previous years.
The inspiring afternoon raised a record-breaking $3 million to ensure that, even in the midst of global crisis, BCRF’s international legion of leading scientists can continue their lifesaving work.
